Missionary Valentine

Today's post is brought to you by my sister Jessica.  It is a paragraph from her most recent email from Uruguay and I thought it was so hilarious that I just had to post it here:

On Monday night I could not sleep so I got up at three and spent a couple hours making valentine cards for hna smith and crofts.  They turned out so cute!  On the inside i wrote, ´´I hope your valentine´s day is filled with faith, hope, charity, and LOVE!!´´ and i used a heart in love instead of v.  And then I put a picture of me with a heart cutout framing my face and then cut out hearts glued all around it with sayings on them like conversation hearts.  But the sayings were like this, ´´be my baptism´´ ´´will you marry...eachother!´´  ´´u r smokin´...stop!´´ u r cute...in white!´´  ´´let´s pray together´´ ´´can i have your numbers?´´  ´´4ever...families´´  ´´c u...at curch!´´  etc.  They were super funny, or at least I thought so.

Oh Jess, you crack me up.

  2. Hi Amy,

You visited our family blog and saw a poem by Margaret Rampton Munk. You asked if you could use it, citing her name. Yes, of course! She's a published author and that poem comes from her book "So Far." Hard to get copies these days, as it hasn't been reprinted in a while and I think those people who get the book hang on to it!

Good luck in your adoption process. It's a process that can be extremely heart-rending at times. (Waiting, uncertainty, etc etc) Yet it's been one of the biggest blessings and sources of joy for us, too! You're in our thoughts and prayers!

  3. I just looked for it on amazon.com -- there are copies! Search "So far" and "Munk" if you are interested in purchasing a copy yourself. There are used copies for just a penny (though you'll shell out $4 for shipping).

  4. Those conversation heart sayings are hilarious! I think I might send them to my sister on her mission, even though Valentine's Day has come and gone. She'll get a kick out of them.

  7. Pinned this years ago knowing I'd have a brother-in-law on a mission eventually. Well, just used it to make him a package to send to California! Thanks for the inspiration, Amy and Jessica!!
