Cinderella Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday, although I am fairly certain that anyone who reads this blog was well aware of that fact.  I'm not the type of person to hide my birthday from others.  Maybe because I'm a Libra?  I felt a little sheepish by the number of people on Facebook who wished me a happy birthday month, not just day, because I also haven't hidden the fact that I claim the entire month of October as MY birth month.  That is just how we roll around here but still, I couldn't tell if there was a little teasing in the comments or whether everybody secretly wants to celebrate for an entire month.  (Who wouldn't, right?)
Paul asked me what I did during the day while he was at work to celebrate my birthday and I told him that I did the following:
  • sorted and washed two loads of laundry
  • folded and put away four loads of laundry (I never got around to the folding part last week after Hawaii before we left for Yosemite)
  • swept the floors
  • washed dishes
  • went through the pile of mail that had been building up
  • cleared clutter off kitchen table and counters
  • disinfected entire kitchen
  • ran to the store for formula and baby food
  • mopped
  • sanitized all of Clara's bottles
  • vacuumed living room rug
  • finished a big project that I have been working on (and will be blogging about soon) and put away all scrapbooking materials used in said project
  • made beds (guest bedroom was still torn apart from Paul's parents' visit)
In between chores I played with and fed Clara, opened presents from some of my favorite people, developed photos, responded to phone calls, texts, and emails from fans family and friends wishing me a happy birthday, and even watched a little TV while eating a grilled cheese sandwich that I accidentally burned black on one side for lunch.

"You sound like Cinderella," Paul told me.

But I did exactly what I had wanted to do.  Seriously, after crazy and hectic traveling and coming home to a disaster of a house, all I wanted was to do some serious cleaning and it made me so happy to tidy things up around our little castle.  It was SUCH a wonderful birthday.  Hooray for 31!

  1. If you think claiming one birthday month is bad, Dave is already campaigning for Colton to have both September AND October. I guess because you can't have the birthday itself be the end of the birthday month? And Colton is a Libra too, so I'm sure he'll go for it, but October is already claimed by YOU so I guess I don't need to worry! :-) Happy birthday (month)!
